Digital Atlas
The Digital Atlas illustrates key geographical aspects of urban environmental change in the Dublin city-region over the period 1990-2006. Drawing on research carried out by the project team the atlas provides a gateway to the work of the project which draws on the insights and expertise of a wide range of scientific disciplines including ecology, civil and mechanical engineering, climatology, human and physical geography and spatial planning. The work of the UEP has focussed on modelling future scenarios of urban environmental change. Such scenarios provide a key resource for enhancing the potential of evidence-based policy making in a spatial and environmental planning context.
The Digital Atlas is available as a downloadable interactive pdf
Chapter 1 Population Change and Urban Expansion
Chapter 2 Greenspace and Biodiversity
Chapter 3 Car Dependency and Air Quality
Chapter 5 Households and Energy Consumption
Chapter 6 Catchments and Flooding
The Digital Atlas was edited by UEP researchers Cormac Walsh and Elizabeth McNicholas
